JOURNEYS

What better way to see Tassie than behind your own wheel, stopping where you like and pulling over for those perfect holiday snaps. The island lends itself to self-drive adventure – it’s compact and shorter driving times generally mean you can be up a mountain in the morning and by a beach come afternoon. Just go at your own pace and be sure to take the curious side roads along the way. Hop on the Spirit of Tasmania with your camper, pick up a hire car at the airport or find a long lost Tasmanian relative eager to be your driver and tour guide. Whatever way you do it, self-driving around Tasmania is relaxed, well sign posted and like the good old days, there’s also plenty of free parking.
