What would a Bruny Island adventure be without good food and something yummy to drink? There are so many great food and wine producers on the island. The first stop when you arrive on the ferry and typically the last as you are leaving the island is Bruny Island House of Whisky. A stop here will have you sampling all sorts of different Tasmanian produced whisky. There are many award winning drops to sample and plenty to learn from the very knowledgeable team behind this business . As some of you may know, not only do I have the @tassiegrammer account but I also run @tassiefoodguide, and I spend a lot of time traveling around Tasmania and elsewhere eating in many different places. One thing that I always seek out when possible are great platters that you typically find in wineries. Bruny Island House of Whisky have some of the best you will find anywhere . This business was previously known as the Bruny Island Smoke House, and it is the same owners who have just shifted focus slightly. They produce their own smoked meats, salmon and many other yummy goodies. And what they don’t produce themselves they source locally . The whisky and food tasting flight as pictured gives you the best of both of their products – great Tasmanian whisky and great local produce. I highly recommend giving this a try next time you are visiting Bruny Island . My Bruny Island adventure is unfortunately slowly coming to an end but keep following along for more a bit later tonight.
