On Sunday the 8th May 60 local and visiting Instagrammers joined us for our biggest and best Instameet yet – #tasmanmeet. Everyone assembled at Brooke Street Pier for an 8am departure with Navigators, who provided a catamaran to transport everyone on the epic journey from Hobart to Port Arthur. After the mandatory safety briefing and a run down of the days activities, we were off.

The scenery on the boat trip down was simply incredible and the weather was perfect. We passed Iron Pot Lighthouse, Tasmania’s first lighthouse and Australia’s second oldest, before being joined by a pod of dolphins who were clearly looking to get their photo taken. We passed through Storm Bay in the perfect weather and headed towards Shipsterns Bluff, the popular surfing area at the very south of the Tasman Peninsula. After stopping for long enough to capture a few shots, we rounded the coastline to see the incredible dolorite cliffs of Cape Raoul before the next stop at Port Arthur.

A sumptuous lunch was waiting for us at Port Arthur Lavender Farm, so after arriving there via bus with Self’s Coaches and after the group was well fed, the next couple of stops were the Tasmanian Devil Unzoo and the Tessellated Pavement at Pirates Bay before the final stop of the Lufra Hotel who laid on an incredible spread of desserts and savoury dishes to top of what was an amazing day. A big thank you goes out to all of the businesses involved on the day and to Tourism Tasmania for help making this event possible.

Here are some of the images from the day.
