Autumn Photography Competition – 2025 Finalist Images

We were honestly blown away by the response, photos came in from all over southern Tasmania, capturing those golden moments that make autumn here so unforgettable.

There’s something about the light during autumn that photographers just love. It softens everything. Mornings are misty and golden, afternoons glow, and even the shadows feel gentle.

The judging? Well… let’s just say it wasn’t easy. There were moody forests, fagus leaves, glowing vineyards, reflections on still water, and quiet shots that somehow said everything without saying a word. It took a lot of cups of tea (and a bit of arguing) to whittle things down, but we’ve finally got our list of finalists!

These are the images that made us pause. Made us feel something. That perfectly bottled up what autumn in southern Tasmania really feels like.

The winner will soon be off for a fancy night at The Tasman, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Hobart, sleeping like royalty in a Grand Heritage King room, with breakfast for two to top it off. Not bad for a day out with a camera, hey?
