We lit up Hobart this winter — and wow, did you capture it!

After a massive 650+ entries from across Southern Tasmania, the winners of the 2025 Paint the Town Red Photography Competition are here… and they’re spectacular!

About the Competition

Paint the Town Red is our annual winter celebration of colour, creativity and community, running alongside Hobart’s famous Dark Mofo festival. Each year, photographers — from casual snappers to seasoned pros — help us showcase the Southern Tasmania after dark, with red-lit landmarks and glowing shopfronts.

In 2025, we saw over 640 entries from across southern Tasmania. The response was phenomenal — and choosing a shortlist wasn’t easy!

A massive thank you to everyone who entered. Whether you braved the cold for that perfect long exposure, snapped something magical on your phone, or captured the warm glow of a local business lighting up the night — we saw your creativity, and we loved it.
