Do you love the TV show “Grand Designs”? Are you curious to visit the hempcrete house featured recently? Now’s your chance!
Meet at an historic Tavern near Hobart for an all-inclusive event. This relaxed gathering includes a Q&A with owners Dan and Chloe plus opportunities to chat with hemp growers, builders and manufacturers.
A small shuttle bus will take you between the tavern and the house, and lunch will be provided at the tavern.
Hemp is such a brilliant crop. You can eat it, drink it, wear it and live in it. Hempcrete houses are beautiful to look at and touch, and so comfortable and affordable to live in, as they stay cool in summer and warm in winter. And at the end of their life cycle, they can be returned to the earth without any of the poisonous nasties such as those left by concrete. Why not come and see for yourself?
Tickets are very reasonable, and if you want a real bargain, joining the Tasmanian Hemp Association online will provide a further discount. Just look for the green “become a member” button. Members will receive a discount code to apply at checkout when you buy your ticket. You will be able to enjoy member benefits like free entry to other fantastic events plus receive discounts of hemp products all while supporting industry development.

We honour 40,000 years of uninterrupted care, protection and belonging to these islands, before the invasion and colonisation of European settlement. As a destination that welcomes visitors to these lands, we acknowledge our responsibility to represent to our visitors, Tasmania’s deep and complex history, fully, respectfully and truthfully.
We acknowledge the Aboriginal people who continue to care for this country today. We pay our respects to their elders, past and present. We honour their stories, songs, art, and culture, and their aspirations for the future of their people and these lands. We respectfully ask that tourism be a part of that future.
