Join these fun filled days and learn and explore four of my favourite basketry techniques with materials you can easily access after the class so you can easily keep on weaving:
random weaving with cane + foraged plant inclusions
random weaving with long leafy plants or natural raffia
twining with jute with a making pattern
looping with paper string
Bonus string/cordage demonstration
By the end of this course you will be confident in multiple basketry techniques. Tapping into your creativity, like all of my workshops, it is so much more than just learning techniques, it’s an opportunity to tap into powerful creativity that is ready to surface.
Learning at your own pace, in this hands on, practical workshop is all about exploration and experimentation not perfection. It’s a small class so you get hands-on tuition from expert weaver, Catriona Pollard. Perfect for beginners, or weavers who are looking to learn these techniques.
If you’ve never done weaving before – perfect! You’ll love it and leave with finished basketry sculptures and the confidence to do more.
Sunday 6 October 2024 10am – 3pm AND Sunday 13 October 2024 10am – 4pm – Single day class options.

We honour 40,000 years of uninterrupted care, protection and belonging to these islands, before the invasion and colonisation of European settlement. As a destination that welcomes visitors to these lands, we acknowledge our responsibility to represent to our visitors, Tasmania’s deep and complex history, fully, respectfully and truthfully.
We acknowledge the Aboriginal people who continue to care for this country today. We pay our respects to their elders, past and present. We honour their stories, songs, art, and culture, and their aspirations for the future of their people and these lands. We respectfully ask that tourism be a part of that future.
