Fat Pig Farm is home to Matthew Evans, Sadie and Hedley. Together they run their 70 acre family farm in the beautiful Huon Valley, south of Hobart, where they live and nurture food from the soil to turn into great meals for the farmhouse table.
Join them every week for a leisurely afternoon on the farm. While sitting at their long table in the farm restaurant, they’ll serve you multiple dishes straight from their gardens and paddocks – all seasonal, all grown by hand and all cooked in their open kitchen. Everything possible will be sourced from within the farm fence. It’s an authentic paddock to plate meal – a one-off dining experience like no other. They will celebrate the meal with matching Tasmanian beers, wines, ciders and spirits. In between courses they’ll take you on a guided tour of the farm.
Matthew Evans is a chef by trade and the host of Gourmet Farmer on SBS. He is an advocate for sustainable food production and is a strong believer in knowing and trusting what you eat.
