The Koonya Garlic Festival is a uniquely original Tasman food experience that celebrates the joy of garlic, the food it flavours and the music and arts that it inspires! The festival is held in the picturesque valley of Koonya on the ruggedly beautiful Tasman Peninsula just over an hour from Hobart.
The Koonya Garlic Festival is one of Australia’s leading harvest festivals. Visitors can sample and buy Tasmania’s finest garlic and artisan garlic produce, enjoy a smorgasbord of delicious gourmet garlic-inspired food and sample some of the regions best wine, gin, vodka, craft cider and beer.
Visitors can also improve their garlic knowledge with talks from some of Australia’s leading garlic and horticultural experts, and refine their culinary skills with cooking masterclasses from some of Tasmania’s most talented and celebrated chefs.
In 2018 there will be a wonderful line up of music entertainment and a fantastic range of activities for the kids, including a cooking and science class.
And not to forget the prestigious garlic competition that lies at the heart of the festival – open to both amateurs and professionals as well as children under 16 – with some wonderful prizes.
