Wavestation is a charming heritage waterfront farmhouse accommodation situated in Middleton, south of Hobart. It is set on two and a half acres overlooking the D’Entrecasteaux Channel towards Bruny Island. Fifty km south of the capital, the property is reached via the Channel Highway past the picturesque port of Kettering and the nearby Peppermint Bay Complex.
We have set up the house to have a sense of place where travellers can feel at home. It would suit one or two couples who are good friends.
The king size and twin bedrooms share a delightful generous size bathroom. Excellent washing and drying facilities are provided. There is a modern, well-appointed kitchen/dining area and a lounge with a large digital television as well as extensive verandas for alfresco dining. Guests may retreat to the gazebo for a barbecue, cook the local mussels and enjoy the rock oysters, play games, read or just enjoy the close water views.
Activities include swimming, kayaking, fishing or boating. Enjoy a scenic drive via Cygnet, Huonville, The Fly and then on to Cockle Creek, the southernmost point by car in Australia.
We acknowledge the Tasmanian Aboriginal people and their enduring custodianship of lutruwita / Tasmania. We honour 40,000 years of uninterrupted care, protection and belonging to these islands, before the invasion and colonisation of European settlement.
As a destination that welcomes visitors to these lands, we acknowledge our responsibility to represent to our visitors, Tasmania’s deep and complex history, fully, respectfully and truthfully.
We acknowledge the Aboriginal people who continue to care for this country today. We pay our respects to their elders, past and present. We honour their stories, songs, art, and culture, and their aspirations for the future of their people and these lands. We respectfully ask that tourism be a part of that future.
