Southern Tasmania is home to some of the worlds best cool-climate vineyards. There are three regions which make up the southern wine footprint, all of which are in close proximity to the capital city – if fact, southern Tasmania is one of the only regions in the country where vineyards are so easily accessible from the capital city.
This summer, the winemakers of southern Tasmania will be opening their doors to guests for three days on the 19th, 20th and 21st of February. The event is a unique opportunity for visitors to not only enjoy some of Tasmania’s top cellar doors but also gives visitors the chance to meet the makers who do not have a cellar door. The event aims to highlight the key wine regions of southern Tasmania, including the Derwent Valley, Coal River Valley and Huon Valley.
Visitors will meet the maker, learn more about the winemaking process and get a chance to see vineyards that are not usually open to the public. Many vineyards will be offering live music and food, created especially for the weekend.
