Situated in the picturesque heritage village of Evandale, Arendon Cottage is a charming two-bedroom Georgian cottage.
Recently renovated and returned to its original design. The cottage is fully self-contained including full kitchen and laundry facilities.
Although Evandale is just a short ten-minute drive from Launceston and a five-minute drive from the airport, you could be forgiven for thinking that you were a world away from the ‘hustle and bustle’ and have been transported back to a more relaxed time.
Many people stay at Arendon Cottage for the convenience of being close to Launceston, the regional centre for Northern Tasmania. Within easy walking distance of coffee shops, bakery, pubs and all manner of village stores and galleries.
If you visit on a Sunday a short stroll to the end of the street you will be delighted to find the Evandale village market; one of the best in the state.
During the months of February and March, the village comes alive with the National Penny-farthing Championships, Village Fair and the internationally acclaimed Glover Art Awards. Some of the regions’ big events.
We acknowledge the Tasmanian Aboriginal people and their enduring custodianship of lutruwita / Tasmania. We honour 40,000 years of uninterrupted care, protection and belonging to these islands, before the invasion and colonisation of European settlement. As a destination that welcomes visitors to these lands, we acknowledge our responsibility to represent to our visitors, Tasmania’s deep and complex history, fully, respectfully and truthfully.
We acknowledge the Aboriginal people who continue to care for this country today. We pay our respects to their elders, past and present. We honour their stories, songs, art, and culture, and their aspirations for the future of their people and these lands. We respectfully ask that tourism be a part of that future.
