Braeside Barn

Rustic Apple Shed Stays. Built in 1946, this original Apple packing shed on 10 acres has been lovingly restored by our family for your exclusive use. A unique farm stay experience we call Shamping – shed glamping. Perched in the hills, five minutes drive south of historic Franklin. Snuggle up by the fire and sample local ciders. Few places are as peaceful, natural or as dark at night, perfect for stargazing & aurora chasing . Authentic rural escapism.
Braeside Barn offers rustic, unique and affordable barn stays for couples or a small family. Like many picturesque timber sheds in the Huon, this building is a quintessential part of our Apple Isle heritage. The Barn features a large open plan bedroom with King & Queen size beds. There is a new bathroom (shower & composting toilet), a large open plan living/kitchen area & back deck BBQ area.
The orchard garden here features heritage apples, cider apples, pears & cherries. The entire barn & 10 acre property is yours to enjoy. Soak up the rustic charm, tranquillity, comfort and night sky at Braeside Barn. Find Tassie provenance here at its heart, where we measure our food miles in metres at roadside stalls, cellar doors, and pick your own farms.
Disconnect to reconnect in the beautiful Huon Valley. We invite you to stay and feel “infinitely more Tasmanian”.
