Crabtree River Cottages are located on the banks of the Crabtree River in the beautiful Huon Valley at Grove, just a 25-minute drive from Hobart and a seven-minute drive to the centre of Huonville.
The property sits on the banks of the Crabtree River and overlooks ‘Sleeping Beauty’ mountain. We offer two private and comfortable federation-style self-contained cottages named Emily and Eliza.
Both cottages have a kitchenette, very high vaulted ceilings, en-suite with two-person spa plus separate shower, romantic bedroom, large decks with barbecue and verandahs overlooking Crabtree River.
The river is an active playground for platypus and trout, and the pastures beyond are home to wallabies and the odd Tasmanian devil. Relax by the wood heater in winter or watch the river roll by whilst relaxing on the deck during summer.
Crabtree River Cottages provides an ideal base to stay whilst in the Huon Valley with its many wineries and tourist attractions. Tahune Air Walk, Cockle Creek, Hastings Caves and the Willie Smith’s Apple shed are all on your doorstep.
We acknowledge the Tasmanian Aboriginal people and their enduring custodianship of lutruwita / Tasmania. We honour 40,000 years of uninterrupted care, protection and belonging to these islands, before the invasion and colonisation of European settlement. As a destination that welcomes visitors to these lands, we acknowledge our responsibility to represent to our visitors, Tasmania’s deep and complex history, fully, respectfully and truthfully.
We acknowledge the Aboriginal people who continue to care for this country today. We pay our respects to their elders, past and present. We honour their stories, songs, art, and culture, and their aspirations for the future of their people and these lands. We respectfully ask that tourism be a part of that future.
