This is a hosted stay through Hipcamp, below is the information provided by the Host regarding their offering.
Great Lake campsite offers just one site with lake views ad plenty of privacy. It is just a 2-minute walk to the lake where you can throw a rod in and enjoy some fishing.
Guests are required to be fully self sufficient with their own toilet/facilities and must take all waste and rubbish with them on departure. Conveniently located just a short drive to many other world-renowned trout fishing lakes.
If you get tired of camp food the Great Lake or Miena Hotel is only a 10-minute drive. They both offer awesome counter meals. Warm up around a campfire in the evenings and enjoy some beautiful star gazing! The property has a horse shoe driveway with lockable chains at both ends, so you can lock up and explore the central highlands or even a day trip to Hobart. Well behaved pets kept on a leash are welcome.
We acknowledge the Tasmanian Aboriginal people and their enduring custodianship of lutruwita / Tasmania. We honour 40,000 years of uninterrupted care, protection and belonging to these islands, before the invasion and colonisation of European settlement. As a destination that welcomes visitors to these lands, we acknowledge our responsibility to represent to our visitors, Tasmania’s deep and complex history, fully, respectfully and truthfully.
We acknowledge the Aboriginal people who continue to care for this country today. We pay our respects to their elders, past and present. We honour their stories, songs, art, and culture, and their aspirations for the future of their people and these lands. We respectfully ask that tourism be a part of that future.
