Maydena Mountain Cabins & Alpacas

Just 1 hour and 15 minutes scenic drive from Hobart, Maydena Mountain Cabins is ideally located on 3.5 acres of rural bliss in the small alpine village of Maydena, offering the perfect all-year-round base to explore some of the last untamed and rare natural wilderness on the planet. Maydena is a well-known tourism adventure hub, home to Maydena Bike Park and gateway to Tasmania’s World Heritage listed wilderness region and national parks.

Explore the area’s unique natural attractions before relaxing in one of our beautiful self-contained timber cabins or the garden apartment, taking in the breathtaking views across the alpacas grazing in the foreground and the forest and winter-snowcapped mountains beyond. Enjoy, take memorable photos and simply breathe in nature and some of the cleanest air in the world.

We are accredited by the Tourism Industry Council Tasmania as a quality accommodation business and for your safety and wellbeing, we are a COVID-SAFE compliant business.

We acknowledge the Tasmanian Aboriginal people and their enduring custodianship of lutruwita / Tasmania. We honour 40,000 years of uninterrupted care, protection and belonging to these islands, before the invasion and colonisation of European settlement.

As a destination that welcomes visitors to these lands, we acknowledge our responsibility to represent to our visitors, Tasmania’s deep and complex history, fully, respectfully and truthfully.

We acknowledge the Aboriginal people who continue to care for this country today. We pay our respects to their elders, past and present. We honour their stories, songs, art, and culture, and their aspirations for the future of their people and these lands. We respectfully ask that tourism be a part of that future.
