The Tree House offers self-contained accommodation on Bruny Island, off Tasmania’s south coast. Bruny Island is accessed by a 15-minute car ferry from the town of Kettering, a 40-minute drive south of Hobart (34 kilometres/21 miles).
The Tree House is a two-storey timber home at Alonnah – a village on the west coast of South Bruny Island. Surrounded by native bush and overlooking the sea, the two bedroom property comfortably accommodates four people in two queen beds. The house features an open-plan living area with polished timber floors, a wood heater, air conditioning, and sweeping views from three outdoor decks.
You can prepare your own home-cooked meals prepared with fresh Tasmanian produce in the fully-equipped, modern kitchen or enjoy a barbecue on the deck and soak up ocean views that stretch to the horizon.
Go swimming, wander the nearby coastal tracks or go bushwalking in South Bruny National Park. Join an eco-cruise with Bruny Island Cruises or visit the extraordinary HIBA – a property on the east coast of South Bruny Island – to sample mouth-watering Bruny Island Fudge and stroll through stunning gardens.
We acknowledge the Tasmanian Aboriginal people and their enduring custodianship of lutruwita / Tasmania. We honour 40,000 years of uninterrupted care, protection and belonging to these islands, before the invasion and colonisation of European settlement. As a destination that welcomes visitors to these lands, we acknowledge our responsibility to represent to our visitors, Tasmania’s deep and complex history, fully, respectfully and truthfully.
We acknowledge the Aboriginal people who continue to care for this country today. We pay our respects to their elders, past and present. We honour their stories, songs, art, and culture, and their aspirations for the future of their people and these lands. We respectfully ask that tourism be a part of that future.
