Bonorong runs Tasmania’s only 24-hour wildlife rescue service and the only animal hospital dedicated to wildlife. In addition, Bonorong implements numerous environmentally responsible practices, including phasing out single-use plastics, sourcing and selling only animal-free products and operating a 100% vegan cafe on site, year round. The sanctuary sources products locally and supports fair-trade initiatives. The Friends of Bonorong charity funds veterinary care, rehabilitation, and conservation programs, helping thousands of animals annually, and supporting vulnerable species like the Tasmanian devil. Educational programs foster public awareness of conservation and promote responsible environmental behaviour.

Get educated and spread the word! When you visit Bonorong, you will learn about our most vulnerable species which will then inspire direct action to care for and protect our Tasmanian wildlife. Donate – become a Friend of Bonorong through a direct donation, registering for corporate giving or leaving a bequest. Train with Bonorong to become a wildlife rescuer. Whatever you do, drive slowly at night, remove roadkill from the road (safely!) and check pouches as you do so.
