This innovative vessel-based experience has been purposely designed to have a low impact on the environment and avoid the need for a land-based footprint, providing access to the wilderness in small groups. Expert local guides ensure that each journey leaves no trace, inspiring and encouraging guests to hold a lasting appreciation for the natural world. Only the freshest local food and wines are served, with left-overs minimised or re-used. Single use plastics are avoided and special care is taken with waste disposal. On Board has a partnership with Raptor Refuge, an organisation which conserves Tasmanian raptors by rehabilitating sick, injured or orphaned raptors, educating the public and supporting habitat conservation. On Board also partners with Tasmanian Parks & Wildlife Service to encourage guests to contribute data to the Tasmanian Natural Values Atlas. This contribution is particularly valuable given there is a shortage of data collected in these remote regions.
