WINNING PHOTOGRAPH: A night’s accommodation at The Tasman, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Hobart, including breakfast (estimated value $678.00*).Â
Tasmania’s natural, culinary and creative treasures are within easy reach at the award-winning hotel, The Tasman. Anchored to the waterfront precinct and in the embrace of kunanyi Mount Wellington Australia’s first Luxury Collection hotel sits comfortably between Hobart’s city centre, picturesque Derwent harbour, MONA Ferry terminal and the iconic Salamanca and Battery Point neighbourhoods. In a showcase of understated elegance by design, The Tasman is an architectural symphony an overture of 1840s Georgian heritage building to 1940s Art Deco a 2020s modern extension finale. Original sandstone contrasts spectacularly with a glass-encased prism of modern architecture.Â
The 2024 Southern Tasmania Autumn Photography Competition has concluded. It showcased the region’s breathtaking beauty through the lens of hundreds of talented photographers. Over 1,000 entries were received via the #autumntasmania24 hashtag.
The standard of entries was extremely high, making selecting the finalist images very difficult. Hundreds of images were worthy of inclusion, but after careful deliberation, the Judges settled on a handful that reflected southern Tasmania during the autumn season.
Congratulations to our finalist photographers and to all who entered the competition. The standard was incredibly high and represented southern Tasmania beautifully.Â
Destination Southern Tasmania would like to thank The Tasman and your incredible team for supplying the wonderful prize for this year’s event.
