Hobart International 2024
6 – 13 January

Cygnet Folk Festival
12 – 14 January
The Cygnet Folk Festival is one of Australia’s most iconic folk music festivals. The festival showcases eclectic music genres featuring local and international artists, dance, poetry, masterclasses, films, kids entertainment, local handicrafts and more, all set in the breathtaking scenery of Tasmania’s Huon Valley.
Richmond Bicentenary Week 2 – Richmond History Festival
18 – 22 January 2024
Richmond Bicentenary is an initiative of Clarence City Council in association with Richmond Village Fair and Events and local community. A program of five themed long ‘Weekends in the Valley’ will frame the Bicentenary.
Weekend 2. Richmond History Festival (18–22 January 2024)
Talks, exhibitions, collectors’ roadshow (21 January 2024), guided tours, and events focused on Richmond and the Coal River Valley and its role in Tasmanian development.
Gin-uary Hobart Gin Festival
27 – 28 January
Gin-uary Hobart Gin Festival was created to celebrate Tasmania’s amazing gin industry. Tassie is known for its high quality and locally made produce – and gin is no different. Tasmania is the birthplace of modern-day distilling and, now in its fourth year, Gin-uary has become an important annual event for the Tasmanian spirits industry.

Kettering Wooden Boat Rally
9 – 11 February 2024
The Kettering Wooden Boat Rally is a highly anticipated event in the maritime calendar that celebrates the rich maritime heritage and craftsmanship of wooden boats. Held on the off-year to the AWBF in the town of Kettering, Tasmania, this rally draws boat enthusiasts from near and far.
The main highlight of the rally is the sailing events, where wooden boats take to the water, showcasing their grace and sailing prowess. Spectators can watch from the shore or even jump onboard with friends to experience the joy of gliding through the pristine waters of the Kettering coastline. The Kettering Yacht Club opens the clubroom bar, and you might even be treated to some live music.

Spanning four events across the year, the Trail Series offers adventure, community spirit and a chance to immerse yourself in nature! Breathe in the eucalypts, brush past the wet ferns, and hear the cockatoos squawk.
Mona Foma
15 February – 4 March
Mona’s summer festival rolls back into town in 2024, with Queens of the Stone Age swaggering onto the Mona lawns to kick things off. A smorgasbord of music, art and boats follows: Mogwai, Shonen Knife, Lonnie Holley + Moor Mother + Irreversible Entanglements, Courtney Barnett, TISM, Paul Kelly, Emeka Ogboh, Yahon Chang, and more. There’s a free concert in the Gorge in Launnie; a big gin-centric artwork; a boat used as a stage; immersive, fantastical dance works, and a whole mess of other stuff. Come and play.
