Discover Tasmania’s Far South

Venture South of Geeveston, and you’ll find yourself in the Huon Valley’s Far South. A place where mountainous national parks filled with forests connect with the sea. Highlights include the beautiful township of Dover and Port Esperance. Visit Hastings Caves State Reserve, a dolomite cave system beneath the forest. Travel even further south to Southport and Ida Bay, where the Lune River connects to the Southern Ocean. Cockle Creek is not to be missed and is the gateway to the southerly most point of Tasmania and the South Coast Track, one of Tasmania’s most challenging multi-day walks. Immerse yourself in the majestic beauty of Tasmania’s Far South to really understand the true meaning of peace, quiet and tranquillity.
