Take time to enjoy this very special place on the lake to pitch a tent or park your van by the yurt. There is a fire pit to roast some marshmallows, watch the stars and even take a dive off the pontoon into the beautiful cool waters, or bring your kayaks and paddle the shores.
Cluny Dun Lagoon is a great base as situated near Ouse so a perfect location to visit the Florentine Valley, Mt Field and many other nearby attractions. The tranquillity and privacy will leave you a wonderful feeling of peace. This is a fantastic place to unwind, take a swim with your dog and just hang out with the very special access to the lagoon.
The yurt has been there for about 14 years and we have hosted rowing events, parties with bands, bike riding groups and horse riding, amongst other enjoyable activities. There are no amenities here, campers must be self-contained and leave no trace.
We acknowledge the Tasmanian Aboriginal people and their enduring custodianship of lutruwita / Tasmania. We honour 40,000 years of uninterrupted care, protection and belonging to these islands, before the invasion and colonisation of European settlement. As a destination that welcomes visitors to these lands, we acknowledge our responsibility to represent to our visitors, Tasmania’s deep and complex history, fully, respectfully and truthfully.
We acknowledge the Aboriginal people who continue to care for this country today. We pay our respects to their elders, past and present. We honour their stories, songs, art, and culture, and their aspirations for the future of their people and these lands. We respectfully ask that tourism be a part of that future.
