Highland Caravan Park

The Highland Caravan Park is situated on the halfway point of the Hobart to Strahan touring route. Open Dec – April (inclusive). It has 15 powered spacious sites, ample toilets and showers with hot water and a guest laundry.
The Highlander Arms Tavern is open on select nights from Nov to April.
Activities include kayaking, waterfall walks and mountain biking. Say hello to the highland cattle, go fishing with Australia’s best guides or just get pointed in the right direction. Guests can enjoy golf (locally) or simply hang out with the ducks and goats.
You can also spot a wombat and quolls plus over 80 bird species all on the 300-acre private Estate. Staying at the Highland Caravan Park is great for families, children and touring couples.
Tarraleah is around a two-hour drive (127 kilometres/79 miles) north-west of Hobart.

We acknowledge the Tasmanian Aboriginal people and their enduring custodianship of lutruwita / Tasmania. We honour 40,000 years of uninterrupted care, protection and belonging to these islands, before the invasion and colonisation of European settlement.

As a destination that welcomes visitors to these lands, we acknowledge our responsibility to represent to our visitors, Tasmania’s deep and complex history, fully, respectfully and truthfully.

We acknowledge the Aboriginal people who continue to care for this country today. We pay our respects to their elders, past and present. We honour their stories, songs, art, and culture, and their aspirations for the future of their people and these lands. We respectfully ask that tourism be a part of that future.
