Ross Visitor Information Centre

Ross Information Centre
Tasmanian Wool Centre

The Ross Visitor Information Centre is open daily and located within the Tasmanian Wool Centre, in the heart of our beautiful historic village.

Our friendly staff are here to help you plan your visit to Ross, the Northern Midlands, and beyond – whether you’re looking for must-see heritage sites, scenic walks, or regional highlights.

We offer pre-booked guided tours for coach groups, school excursions, and other group bookings. Tours may be walking or coach-based and are subject to staff availability and minimum numbers—please contact us in advance to discuss your requirements. Museum tours can also be arranged by request.

Inside the centre, you’ll also find our Wool and History Museums, which feature a mix of permanent displays and changing exhibitions. Keep an eye on our social media to stay up to date with upcoming exhibitions and events.

Don’t forget to explore our retail store, where you’ll find a curated range of quality wool garments, unique gifts and locally made products. You can also shop online anytime via our website.

Ross is conveniently located just off the Midland Highway—120 km north of Hobart and 78 km south of Launceston.
