“Snowy Range” is a 250 acre property in the beautiful Huon Valley, nestled at the foot of the Snowy Ranges surrounded by national park and state forest. A short 25-minute drive from Huonville and only 55 minutes from Hobart.
Snowy Range is not only a retreat for humans but home to a vast number of animals. Tasmanian Devils, Eastern Quolls, Wombats, Platypus’ or playful Echidnas, they are all living at your front door. Wallabies, Kangaroos, Pademelons and Possums are the most prolific and can be easily spotted. But also the birdwatcher will not be disappointed with Wedge-tailed Eagles, White-bellied Sea-Eagles, Cormorants and an abundance of other bird species living on Snowy Range. Lots of the animals are nocturnal so make sure to bring a torch for some late night exploring.
Kilometres of walking tracks on the property take you around the lakes and through the bush land. Just up the road is the trailhead to the Lake Skinner walking track, an insider tip amongst bushwalkers.
We acknowledge the Tasmanian Aboriginal people and their enduring custodianship of lutruwita / Tasmania. We honour 40,000 years of uninterrupted care, protection and belonging to these islands, before the invasion and colonisation of European settlement.
As a destination that welcomes visitors to these lands, we acknowledge our responsibility to represent to our visitors, Tasmania’s deep and complex history, fully, respectfully and truthfully.
We acknowledge the Aboriginal people who continue to care for this country today. We pay our respects to their elders, past and present. We honour their stories, songs, art, and culture, and their aspirations for the future of their people and these lands. We respectfully ask that tourism be a part of that future.
