1. Admire the streetscape

Upon arriving in Evandale, you’ll soon see why it’s known for being one of the best-preserved historic towns in the country. Take a stroll down High Street to admire the 19th century architecture. A little further from the town centre, you can visit Clarendon House, an incredible Georgian-style estate complete with gardens and a tree-lined avenue.

2. Dine at the Clarendon Arms

For a delicious pub meal with flair, look no further than the Clarendon Arms.

Serving up some of the best seasonal produce in the recently refurbished pub, you’ll feel right at home.

The cosy interior is warm and welcoming on a cooler day, or enjoy the summer outside in the beer garden.

3. Go antique shopping

Evandale has a variety of places to hunt for antique treasures. Evandale Antiques and Anteiku Antiques (the sister shop to Wildes Antiques) are must-visits for any antique lover.

The Evandale Sunday Market is also great to browse for unique trinkets, and while you might not find antiques, a wander through the Evandale Village Store won’t disappoint. Filled with a specially curated selection of goodies from Tasmania, the Mainland, Europe, New Zealand and North America, it’s a true delight for all who visit. 

4. Visit the Tourism and Information Centre.

Drop into the Evandale Tourism and Information Centre at 18 High Street Evandale. 

Talk to the locals and discover some of the best kept secrets of the region.

5. Make yourself at home with cosy accommodation

6. Get a little saucy

Treat your tastebuds with a trip to the Tasmanian Gourmet Sauce Company. With everything from sweet sauces made with fruits or chocolates to savoury sensations made with mustards, or even pasta sauces and jams, you’ll be delighted with the array of flavours on offer. 

In the Tasting Room, you’ll be guided through the delicious range of products, such as a variety of berry fruit sauces, chocolate sauce and savour the award winning chutneys, mustards, pasta sauces and jams.

7. Take a Self Guided Tour

Take a self-guided tour of the Evandale village. A booklet is available from the Evandale Tourism and Information Centre at 18 High Street (open between 10 am and 2 pm daily). The booklet is illustrated and follows the main part of the village.
