Immerse yourself in the ultimate nature experience as you unwind at ‘The Croft’ at Arden Retreat.
Arden Retreat is on the outskirts of the historic village of Richmond in the Coal River Valley wine region, 30 minutes from Hobart in southern Tasmania. It is part family farm and part a preservation of Tasmanian bush. The Peppermint and Blue Gums provide habitat to many native animals, including a wedge-tailed eagle nest which is home to two striking “wedgies”.
The Croft at Arden is an exquisitely appointed two-bedroom cabin set amongst the gumtrees. The design, craftsmanship and interiors draw the built and natural environments together. The Blue Gum cladding is felled from the property. The glass frontage draws in natural light and warmth in abundance and the generous deck leads to a woodfired hot tub & fire pit.
The architecturally designed space adjusts perfectly to accommodate singles, couples or a family. The primary pavilion consists of a separate main bedroom with king bed, open plan living, kitchen and bathroom. The second bedroom is linked via the atrium-style entrance.
The Croft provides complete seclusion yet is located only 5 minutes from the cafes, shops and historic sites of Richmond.
We acknowledge the Tasmanian Aboriginal people and their enduring custodianship of lutruwita / Tasmania. We honour 40,000 years of uninterrupted care, protection and belonging to these islands, before the invasion and colonisation of European settlement. As a destination that welcomes visitors to these lands, we acknowledge our responsibility to represent to our visitors, Tasmania’s deep and complex history, fully, respectfully and truthfully.
We acknowledge the Aboriginal people who continue to care for this country today. We pay our respects to their elders, past and present. We honour their stories, songs, art, and culture, and their aspirations for the future of their people and these lands. We respectfully ask that tourism be a part of that future.
