This charming historic house was built in 1897 and today provides an oasis in the Hobart city fringe. This property has five bedrooms with one super-king and five queen beds, a beautiful private established garden and adjoins a cute modern cafe. Base yourself at Lowena, a heritage listed home with a delightful garden. Ideal for a country lifestyle within a minute’s proximity to the city centre.
Downstairs, relax on the plush sofa in the lounge as the light streams in. This floor also houses a generous sized room with two queen beds and a bathroom. The second floor has four bedrooms and three bathrooms; a master bedroom with a super king bed and three bedrooms with queen size beds.
The home offers views over the established gardens of Lowena and across to the historic homes of South and West Hobart. Open the windows or sit in the privacy of the garden and enjoy the sound of the birds. The home has been well lived in and we welcome children.
The property adjoins a quiet cafe run by the owner where you can enjoy coffee and home cooked Asian and western breakfast and lunch or special order for dinner.
We acknowledge the Tasmanian Aboriginal people and their enduring custodianship of lutruwita / Tasmania. We honour 40,000 years of uninterrupted care, protection and belonging to these islands, before the invasion and colonisation of European settlement. As a destination that welcomes visitors to these lands, we acknowledge our responsibility to represent to our visitors, Tasmania’s deep and complex history, fully, respectfully and truthfully.
We acknowledge the Aboriginal people who continue to care for this country today. We pay our respects to their elders, past and present. We honour their stories, songs, art, and culture, and their aspirations for the future of their people and these lands. We respectfully ask that tourism be a part of that future.
