This is a hosted stay through Hipcamp, below is the information provided by the Host regarding their offering.
Finding the Huon Views property couldn’t be easier, just turn right at the Welcome to Franklin sign when driving south from Huonville. Our gate has two big gum stumps as posts.
Offering big views up the Huon Valley and over the river, this campsite will be sure to provide a great stay. The property is a 5-minute walk into the Historic town of Franklin, where there are are some great pubs and restaurants. The property has two flat sites, one with a slight gradient but they are set far apart and are accessible by 2WD dependent on the weather.
There are no facilities, so the site is suitable for self-contained campers only, however a dump for toilet water is included. Water is also available.
Due to our children and our Alpaca on site we have a no pets policy.
Visiting children are welcome to help our kids feed the Alpaca. The property has an orchard of cherries, plums, apples, pears, lemons and apricots. There are many walks and sites to see in the local area. It’s possible to see Aurora from your campsite, but not guaranteed.
We acknowledge the Tasmanian Aboriginal people and their enduring custodianship of lutruwita / Tasmania. We honour 40,000 years of uninterrupted care, protection and belonging to these islands, before the invasion and colonisation of European settlement. As a destination that welcomes visitors to these lands, we acknowledge our responsibility to represent to our visitors, Tasmania’s deep and complex history, fully, respectfully and truthfully.
We acknowledge the Aboriginal people who continue to care for this country today. We pay our respects to their elders, past and present. We honour their stories, songs, art, and culture, and their aspirations for the future of their people and these lands. We respectfully ask that tourism be a part of that future.
