The Old Bank Franklin, formerly a historic bank that has been recently been converted to bed and breakfast style accommodation located in the town of Franklin.
When you stay at the Old Bank, you’ll sleep in the former bank manager’s office and your private bathroom is in the original bank vault. Light the cosy wood fire and relax in this piece of local history.
The main road location of the Old Bank means you’re only a short stroll from Franklin’s cafes and restaurants and the beautiful Huon River. It’s the ideal base for exploring the local area including cider bars and wineries, the Wooden Boat Centre, Tahune Airwalk and the Hartz Mountains.
The guest suite features a queen bed with quality Sheridan linen, cosy wood fire, smart TV, open plan lounge/dining area overlooking the river and a small bathroom located in the original decommissioned bank vault.
We are an adults-only retreat – there is one queen bed. The guest accommodation is on the main road with its own private entrance via the side driveway. A locked door separates the guest suite from the rest of the house, ensuring your privacy at all times.
The accommodation is not self-catering but there is a kettle, toaster, bar fridge, coffee pod machine, glasses, cups, basic cutlery. The main road location means there is a bit of traffic noise.
We acknowledge the Tasmanian Aboriginal people and their enduring custodianship of lutruwita / Tasmania. We honour 40,000 years of uninterrupted care, protection and belonging to these islands, before the invasion and colonisation of European settlement. As a destination that welcomes visitors to these lands, we acknowledge our responsibility to represent to our visitors, Tasmania’s deep and complex history, fully, respectfully and truthfully.
We acknowledge the Aboriginal people who continue to care for this country today. We pay our respects to their elders, past and present. We honour their stories, songs, art, and culture, and their aspirations for the future of their people and these lands. We respectfully ask that tourism be a part of that future.
