Discover Picturesque Richmond

Richmond, in the centre of the Coal River Valley, is a picture-perfect town and home to Australia’s oldest bridge and Gaol, built by convict labour between 1823 and 1825. It’s also home to Australia’s oldest remaining Catholic Church, St Johns, built-in 1836.

To get the most out of Richmond, try wandering its streets. The town has attracted artists and craftspeople for generations, you’ll find their work in the town’s galleries and cafes.

Wine, Dine and Stay

The Coal River Valley is the ideal location for cool-climate wine production and when visiting the region you will notice the large number of vines that grace the landscape.

While there are 33 vineyards in the Coal River Valley, not all have cellar doors and some are only open on select days or by appointment so be sure to check ahead before planning your visit.
